Short profile:
The Music Broadcasting Society of South Australia Inc, broadcasts Fine Music to Adelaide listeners under the call sign 5MBS. We provide a top quality service to meet the listening needs of music lovers. We broadcast mainly classical music and jazz, with special programs for World Music, Blues and Soul, film scores and quality popular music in our Sentimental Journey and Charivari programs. It our policy to include a proportion of Australian compositions and performances in its programming, especially concerts and recitals recorded in Adelaide. We provide concert recordings free to performers, and also use them on air in certain programs. We support the wider arts community, and supporting musical organisations, who prepare and present their own programs. We also promote on air the concerts and recitals of any such groups. We invite all musical and other arts groups to subscribe to our regular segment Arts Diary.
